Tagged Image File Format (TIFF)
A common format for interchanging digital information, generally associated with greyscale or bitmap data.
Template
A standard layout usually containing basic details of the page dimensions.
Thumbnails
The first ideas or sketches of a designer noted down for future reference.
Transparency
A full colour photographically produced image on transparent film.
Typeface
The raised surface carrying the image of a type character cast in metal. Also used to refer to a complete set of characters forming a family in a particular design or style.
Typography
The design and planning of printed matter using type.
Tints
A shade of a single color or combined colors.
Trapping
The ability to print one ink over the other.
Tabloid
A paper sized at 11x17 inches. Also refers to a print size slightly smaller than a traditional newsletter. Mostly used for poster design.
Threshold
A level of tolerance for tonal variation in a bitmapped image. For example,
when you convert an image to the Black-and-White color mode, the threshold you set determines how many tonal values are converted to black and how many to white.
